We've got a ceiling again!!! We hired a guy to do the drywall work so that we could not only take a break from some of this mess, but also be assured that the finished product will look great. We'll keep the picuters coming. Take a look at the progress.
Last night was a long night. We finished up all of the work that needed to get done before the drywall could be started. That included all electrical work, lights, switches, outlets, etc. Lisa decided to add one more light last minute and we're both happy about it. We now have a lot more light in the pantry. We also moved the vent stack so that it would be hidden in the wall and not be exposed. That probably took the longest last night. David also installed a back door light on the back of the house. Now that was a bit of an adventure. He really wants to add a deck now :) Well, we couldn't just tell you what we did, so here's a few pictures to look at.
Well, we tried to figure out the best way to run the new electrical lines needed for the kitchen remodling job and decided that the best/easist way would be to rip the entire ceiling out! Take a look and see how much fun we had!!!
We started the kitchen remodeling by tearing out the old cabinets and the soffit. We had Nate and Jill over helping us do some of the demo. The upper cabinets came out pretty easily. The hard part was the soffit. Now that we have that out we can start the task of rerunning new electrical for the outlets, lights, microwave, and DISHWASHER!!! We flew down to NC to see David's parents. His mom's birthday was on the 31st so we headed down to have a belated celebration. No pictures from the trip, but we had a fun time in the nicer climate and got to see their new house.
